FAQ
Teleste — frequently asked questions
What is Teleste Luminato used for?
Luminato is Teleste’s modular video headend platform. It receives satellite, terrestrial, cable and IP services, descrambles and processes them, multiplexes them and outputs them as DVB-C/DVB-T (Edge QAM) or IP. Creative Solutions has more than 100 Luminato installations in the region.
What is an Edge QAM?
An Edge QAM modulates digital video services, typically received over IP, onto QAM RF channels for delivery over a cable network. Teleste’s Luminato X32 provides 32 independent QAM channels with a 10G IP input in a compact unit.
What does a 1.2 GHz to 1.8 GHz upgrade involve?
Extending the downstream spectrum to 1.8 GHz for DOCSIS 4.0 typically requires amplifiers and nodes that support 1.8 GHz, such as the Teleste CX4 amplifier with upstream up to 492 MHz via plug-in modules, together with re-planning of network levels and spacing.
Which Teleste nodes support Remote PHY?
Teleste offers dedicated Remote PHY nodes such as the AC9100 NEO, AC9400, ICON9000 and DAN300, plus R-PHY-ready optical nodes. The OX3 and E8 are traditional optical nodes.
